This Month In Clay Target Nation

July 26, 2025 By hdyer

With skeet and sporting clays competitions in full swing, the August issue of Clay Target Nation is packed with event coverage as well as tips and advice from our experts.

In our Training Tips columns, Paul Giambrone III advises shooters that yes, there are sometimes reasons to take a shooting break and helps you figure out when it’s time to stop shooting for a while. Clayton Rue offers sporting clays shooters a unique way to think about their shots while incorporating some famous movie quotes in his Training Tip titled “What’s Our Vector?”

The Kolar U.S. Open gets full coverage in this issue, including a photo gallery from several different clubs. We’ve also got an article covering the NSCA Northeast Regional and the Texas State Skeet Championships.

In our “From the Archives” article celebrating CTN’s 10th anniversary, Tom Roster warns shooters that lead distance tables aren’t accurate enough to rely on. Anthony Matarese Jr. has a feature that will give you some insight on when it’s time to change up your game, and Victoria Stellato offers tips on achieving your peak performance. Finally, don’t miss our article interviewing some of sporting clays’s top shooters about the practice routines that work for them.
